An agreement on cooperation was signed between the Alma-Ata and Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminaries

October 12, 2022. Sergiev Posad, Russia. The signing of an agreement on cooperation between the Alma-Ata and Smolensk Orthodox theological seminaries took place in the pilgrimage center at the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra.

The document was signed by the Acting Rector of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary - the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan Alexander and the rector of the Smolensk Theological Seminary - the head of the Smolensk Metropolis, Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh Isidor.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the First Vice-Rector of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov and the assistant to the Administrator of the Smolensk Diocese, Priest Lev Garin.

Thanks to the signed document, the main theological schools of Kazakhstan and the Smolensk region will hold joint conferences, seminars, round tables and expert meetings on issues of mutual interest, implement joint research, educational, methodological, cultural and educational programs.

During the working meeting, issues of interaction between theological schools were discussed.
