
A presentation of the printed works of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, dedicated to the 16th anniversary of his Primate enthronement, was held in Alma-Ata

February 4, 2025. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a presentation of the printed works of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, dedicated to the 16th anniversary of his Primate enthronement, was held in the foyer of the Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov) Spiritual, Cultural and Administrative Center.
The event was organized by the publishing department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary. The curator of the exposition is Archpriest Kirill Shklyar, key keeper of the Peter and Paul Church and Deacon Ilya Vorobyov, cleric of the Iveron-Seraphim Monastery in the Southern Capital.
The book exhibition was headed by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
The presentation of the new books by His Holiness was attended by: Vicar of the Astana Diocese Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan; Bishop Chrysanthus of Chimkent and Turkestan; Dean of the churches of Almaty, Rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral Archpriest Valery Zakharov; Rector of the Almaty Church in Honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" Archpriest Evgeny Vorobyov; Rector of the Tomsk Theological Seminary Archimandrite Joseph (Eremenko) (Tomsk Metropolitanate); Chairman of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Rector of the Church Archpriest Evgeny Bobylev; Sacristan of the Ascension Cathedral of Almaty, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Metropolitan District Archpriest Alexander Suvorov; Archpriest Dimitry Baidek, the key keeper of the Assumption Cathedral in Astana; T.V. Zubkova, head of international humanitarian projects of Rossotrudnichestvo; M.S. Simakova, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan; teachers and students of the Almaty Theological Seminary; employees of the diocesan administration; clergy and parishioners of the churches of the Southern capital.
Before the event, the Head of the Metropolitan District addressed those present with a word of greeting. "Just recently, on February 1, we prayerfully celebrated the 16th anniversary of the enthronement of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'. The Primate is the author of numerous outstanding publications, reports and speeches. He has written a number of books in which His Holiness sets out his theological views, understanding of the near and distant future, and shares his vision of global social and historical processes. By reviving the ancient tradition of preaching, Patriarch Kirill gives it a new, social sound. He opens up to the listener and reader the language of “universal preaching”, which is understandable to both church people and secular people. His Holiness the Bishop boldly speaks out in his works on the most controversial and pressing issues. Be it international conflicts, a pandemic, digital technologies or artificial intelligence,” the Metropolitan Bishop noted.
Archpriest Kirill Shklyar spoke about the books of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. The key keeper of the Peter and Paul Church shared information with those present about the concept of the exhibition and conducted a tour.
During the event, new editions of the Collected Works of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, published in the series “A Word to Those Near and Far” were presented; thematic collections: “On Meanings”, “Only Life: Dialogue with Youth”, “So that Lent Would Be for Salvation. To Help the Repentant”, “Living Memory: Saints and Us”, “Happiness the Size of a Whole Life: About Family and Family Values”.
The books of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church are addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the service of the First Hierarch, as well as to those who turn to the word of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' in their activities.
Visitors to the book exhibition were able to see stands with photo and video information about the main milestones in the life and work of His Holiness, as well as the Primate's visits to Kazakhstan.
The books of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church will be transferred to the library of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary and Sunday schools of the Southern capital.
At the end of the presentation, those gathered proclaimed many years to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.
