Believers of the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese met the relics of the blessed nun Matrona of Moscow

November 9, 2024. Ust-Kamenogorsk. The relics of the holy blessed nun Matrona of Moscow, visiting Kazakhstan with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', arrived in the capital of the "Rudny Altai".
The relic was delivered by the vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan.
Support for the delivery of the relics is provided by the public foundation "Apostol".
The visit is timed to coincide with historical dates - the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese, the upcoming 15th anniversary of the approval of the canonical status of the Metropolitan District.
From the airport, the ark with the relics of Blessed Matrona was transported to St. Andrew's Cathedral, where the revered relic was met by clergy and numerous believers, led by Archbishop Amfilohiy of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk.
To the singing of the troparion to the righteous "God-wise blessed nun Matrona", the relics were brought under the vaults of the cathedral and installed in the center of the temple, after which the all-night vigil began, led by the administrator of the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese.
At the end of the service, Bishop Amfilohiy congratulated those gathered on the significant event - the bringing of the relics of the blessed nun Matrona to the capital of the "Rudny Altai".
Then the worship of the believers to the relic began. During the entire stay of the relics of the saint of Christ in the main church of the Ust-Kamenogorsk diocese, prayers with akathists to the saint will be held.
The relic will be in the capital of the "Rudny Altai" from November 9 to 12.
