The visit of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan to the Aktobe diocese has begun

On August 31, 2024, the visit of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, to the Aktobe diocese of the Metropolitan District began.

His Eminence is accompanied on the trip by: Vicar of the Astana diocese Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, Rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in the city of Almaty Archpriest Yevgeny Vorobyov, Head of the Secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), Head of the Protocol Service Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky.

At the airport of the city of Aktobe (Aktyubinsk), the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan was met by Bishop Ignatius of Aktobe and Kyzylorda, Acting Dean of the Aktobe Church District Hieromonk Cyprian (Dakhno) and diocesan clergy.

At the request of the faithful, the Head of the Metropolitan District delivered a relic to the Aktobe Diocese - an exact copy, "measure for measure", of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Healer", consecrated during the visit of the ancient icon to Kazakhstan in May of this year.

As part of the visit, on Sunday, September 1, the Metropolitan will lead the Divine Liturgy in the Nikolsky Cathedral in the city of Aktyubinsk (beginning at 9 o'clock).

Metropolitan Alexander will hold working meetings with Bishop Ignatius of Aktobe and Kyzylorda, visit churches, communicate with the clergy and believers, and meet with the regional leadership and the public of the city of Aktobe.
