Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev) was awarded the State Order of Friendship

In the fireplace hall of the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan named after Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius, a meeting was held between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Republic of Kazakhstan A.N. Wartkin.

The meeting was attended by: vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop of Talgar Veniamin; Bishop of Ural and Atyrau Vianor; dean of the Astana church district Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), keymaster of the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Astana Archpriest Dimitry Baidek, head of the personal secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District Priest Georgy Sidorov, employees of the Astana diocesan administration.

 After exchanging greetings, Alexey Nikolaevich presented Archimandrite Sergius with the Order of Friendship. The shepherd was awarded a high state award by decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin No. 233 “for his great contribution to the development of spiritual ties, strengthening friendship and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

The Russian Ambassador wished the awardee health, peace and prosperity in his further fruitful pastoral work.
The dean of the Astana church district thanked Metropolitan Alexander for presenting him with a high state award and said warm words to Alexei Nikolaevich.

Previously, the dean of the parishes of Astana, by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (No. 37,994), was awarded a high state award - the Order of Kurmet (Order of Honor) for the establishment in society of traditional spiritual and moral values and work to strengthen interfaith peace and interethnic harmony.

During the communication that took place after the award ceremony, the parties discussed issues of Russian-Kazakh cooperation in the field of culture.

At the end of the conversation, the Head of the Metropolitan District and the Russian Ambassador exchanged good wishes.
