
The international Internet carousel “Countries and People” dedicated to the Day of Orthodox Youth took place

On February 12, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the commission for educational ministry of the Astana diocese held an international youth online quiz “Countries and Peoples”.
The event is timed to coincide with the International Orthodox Youth Day, which is celebrated annually on February 15, the day of the Presentation of the Lord.
Teams of schoolchildren and students from Kazakhstan, Russia and Lithuania took part in the intellectual competition. In total, 19 teams were involved in the event (7 from parish youth clubs and 12 from Sunday and secondary schools, as well as Orthodox lyceums).
The tasks included questions on ethnogeography and the geography of world religions.
The Internet carousel took place in two subgroups: Sunday schools (children under 17 years old) and youth clubs (young people over 17 years old).
Based on the results of the intellectual competition, the following teams were recognized as winners and prize-winners.
